Alexander Gutierrez is an associate attorney at Peter L. Cedeño & Associates. P.C. whose longstanding interest in advocating on behalf of distressed individuals has remained constant through out his career. A native New Yorker from an Ecuadorian background and affluent in Spanish, Alex has volunteered with non-for profit organizations such as the Emerald Isle Immigration Centre, City Bar Justice Center, and the Young Debaters Program. He has served on the Board of the Hispanic National Bar Association, Region II where he promotes growth within the legal community and out-reach on numerous social issues.
His justice oriented demeanor and fair but aggressive negotiation tactics resonate in the Courtroom and amongst his interpersonal relationships with clients. In the rare circumstance that negotiations fall apart, his State and Federal jury trial experience provide him with the necessary tools to successfully advocate in the Courtroom. He also has experience in alternate dispute programs and has participated in mediating complex federal issues involving wage and hour claims.
Alex earned his Bachelor’s Degree from John Jay College of Criminal-Justice and his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. He has competed and succeeded in several national trial competitions and public speaking organizations such as Toastmasters International.
Alex has practiced in State and Federal court through out all the five boroughs across New York City. His experience in litigation includes employment and labor issues, matrimonial, family and criminal law. Alex is admitted to practice law in the state of New York, the Eastern District of New York, and Florida.
